First off, I'd like to thank everyone on this site. I only just recently got my PAL and soon after discovered these forums while researching what shotgun to get. I've already learned a great deal and look forward to learning lots more.
I abandoned my plan to get a Maverick 88 Security as I wanted something more compact for camping and hiking. That led me to the Norinco HP9 which I found in stock at Al Simmons in Hamilton. A couple phone calls to them plus an online order at Cabelas and one week later I have this:
Went to the local shooting range tonight and put some rounds of 7 1/2 birdshot through it. Tried some 9 pellet 00 buckshot too and then a few rounds of 2 3/4" 1 oz slugs which is the load I will normally be carrying. Not going to lie, my shoulder is a bit sore. But I am already hooked and now will have to begin researching which bolt action .22LR to buy! So far the Savage Mark II is at the top of my list...
