Ask yourself why you want to buy a handgun? Honestly. Do you want to make a lot of noise? Impress your buddies, girl-friend, or repel home invaders?
My advice would be to join a gun club and find yourself a coach who is willing to take the time to assess your needs and wants and who then can advise you as to the appropriate firearm. But, without proper training your pistol will be more dangerous than your driving without having taken a driver training course.
