First handgun

Can anyone recommend a first handgun. I was thinking of a Ruger 22 cal. to learn with. Thanks for your help.

I agree with the ruger but I couldn't find a half descent one used and didnt want to shell out for new. I did find a good used S&W 22A1 at a resonable price and have had absolutely no complaints with it. IMO I find it has a more comfortable grip and looks way cooler than the Ruger mkIII but thats just my opinion. The S&W also comes with a weaver top rail so if you have any desire to put sights on it you are able to. They run about the same price as the mkIII. But like I said thats just one mans opinion

I have a MK 1 and a MK2. Can't go wrong with either.
