I have sent an email to wolverine and a post to Flaherty's and am waiting for a reply, first scope!
Hi folks
I have a savage 10-tr in .308 that will be used in the future for my first mid- long range target practice! However this year I will be using it for deer hunting. I have never used a scope for hunting or anything else, but with age comes its follies! I notice you have a very good selection of scopes and at the price range I am comfortable with! I was looking at some of your Bushnell as they have a good name/warranty and are priced well. Can you recommend a scope for my rig, I would like one that can reach out to 300 yards but my shots will likely be inside of 125-150 yds! I will also need rings for this, as you likelt know the rifle comes with a picatinny rail! Thanks for any help you can give!
Cheers Bob
I am hoping to stay below $400 as I will be getting a long range scope in the spring so do not want to dump to much cash on this one!
So being that hunting season is close, can anyone suggest a scope to fit my requirements? I was looking at the Bushnell trophy xlt models but am open to anything!
Thanks Bob
All Dealers feel free to chime in and sell me a scope! ;0)

I have the Bushnell Trophy XLT 4-12x40 DOA reticle. Brand new and paid 169.00 for it. I like it. Once I had it zeroed it became even better. I can hit targets I can't see with my eyes. Don't use glasses except for reading VERY fine print. We were camping a week ago and just for giggles I compared views with some binoculars I have. I could see a house in the distance and with the binocs could see it pretty good, with the scope, I could tell you how many windows the house had. That house according to google earth was slightly over two miles away.

Vortex makes some really nice scopes for the price. Definitely check them
Out. They have free shipping at the ammo source on some models

Ok ordered bushnell 3-9-40 elite (e-3940) $279.95 with $70 mail in rebate so $209.95, and medium leupold prw rings , The guy I talked to at Frontier aid the low rings would make the scope touch the rail so ordered Med.! should be here in 10 days, just enough time to go to the range and sight in for bambi bashing! Thanks to all who offered info It helped a bunch!
