As many of you are aware holding a PRS match requires more land than a normal square type range.

I was wondering if there are any experts out there on the usage of First Nations land for this type of thing (with proper permission, payments, etc.)

I ask because back in the day I used to be into RC planes and there was a First Nations fellow who would have other enthusiasts out on First Nations land to fly them (he was a band member and also got all the permissions). You are technically not allowed to fly RC planes just anywhere but with the advent drones, etc. this is obviously not that well enforced.

If anyone has info it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm no lawyer, but IIRC you can't hold an organized shooting competition on private or crown land. I imagine First Nation land would fall under the same category.

You can hold comps on private or crown land, you just need to jump through the appropriate hoops. The hardest part on crown land would be proving to the CFO that you can control the template. Which is a bunch of BS. I can't hold a match because I can't guarantee that no one will enter the down range area, but I and a few buddies can blast away no problem.

Bureaucrats.....

You will still need CFO approval in order to hold an organized shooting event. The only place you can get away from that requirement is on a DND range.
