Finally bit the bullet and bought my first restricted pistol. Tried lots, with high expectations on some that turned out to be a bit of a let down when I actually held the, in person. However, one I tried time and time again was the IWI Jericho 941.

I initially shrugged it off due to the lack of reviews and the fact the original supplier went out of business (thinking parts/pieces/mags). But it just felt so comfortable in my hand it was like it was meant to be. I picked up the poly version in 40 with the range kit (3 mags, cleaning kit) and came with a free mag pouch and holster (forbus).

After handling it a fair bit since purchase, I'm even more impressed. The ergonomics, fit and finish are top notch. Yet to fire for he first time (range dAte for Thursday) but after watching the torture tests the Israel's put it through, I don't expect any issues.

I've got the steel version, and love it. My only gripe is the serrations on the slide and the safety/decocker make it awkward to rack the slide.
But once it's loaded, it's a beauty to shoot.

Considering they are made for their military and special forces, you would think they have to be first rate. I have read nothing bad about them at all, either all steel or plastic. You made a great choice, enjoy !!

Got a tryout at the range, albeit brief (sorry no pics). Only ran 50 rounds through, but it performed flawlessly. A fair bit of muzzle jump, but manageable, I'm sure I'll be able to control it better with time. Super comfortable to hold, love the grip. Well worth for what I paid.

My steel Jericho in .40 is one our family favorites. Good choice for a first pistol, IMHO.

I've never handled the polymer model but I would assume it's noticeably lighter than the steel version- this may be the reason for the muzzle flip you're experiencing. No worries, though- this will NOT be your only pistol. I guarantee it!!!! :)

Got the hard chrome in 9mm and use it to bang some nails when I'm too drunk to find the hammer. Enjoy! And don't forget to start saving your pennies.

Cool first pistol....and I'm a big fan of .40...notice how I said "first"...there will be more...enjoy..
