I got the knock on the door early yesterday morning with a present from the postman and Frontier's Ruger rampage sale. Opened up a rifle sized box and pulled out my shiny new stainless 10/22.

Obviously I wasted not time and viciously attacked the box and all its contents. I order the rifle, a scope, bi-pod and butler creek 25 round magazine.

I locktited my screws and mounted the scope. Drilled a hole (or two ) to mount the bi-pod and admired my new toy.

Today I managed to get out to the range with a bunch of different brands of ammo. It ate everything I could throw at it, a bulk pack of 525rns of blazers a box of mini-mags, stringers, yellow jackets and federal champions. After 800 rounds of 22LR my trigger finger is a little sore and the rifle ran flawless without a hiccup. Not only that but its accurate to boot and held some very tight groups with the minimags out to 60 yards.

I'm very happy with this purchase and way to go Frontier for providing some great service and prices.

Very nice rifle, looks sharp with the silver scope on it.

If you can find some, try Eley ammo. My 10/22 loves it and shoots twice as accurate with it than any of the bulk stuff. Eley is a little pricey though.

Welcome to the addiction they call 10/22. I think the biggest must with any 10/22 is the target hammer kit, nice light trigger pull. Have fun.

Make sure you loctite those screws mounting the base!

Enjoy, and welcome to the club.

Now lets see how much more you will spend on upgrades!

If you don't want to spend much, the very least is a VQ target hammer! $15 and it will make that trigger pull into a whole different animal.

Edit: camaross beat me to it. LOL

I have a bolt buffer on order and the hammer kit will be next I think. I probably won't do much else to it  (famous last words)

what results did you get as far as ammo went, what worked best?

everything shot pretty well but the tightest groups were with CCI Mini-mags.
