Hi all

Just a quick word to present myself, Bob Fortier. I currently live in Thetford Mines, PQ. Got my first Lee Enfield yesterday, a sporterized No 1 Mk III, 1940, with a FTR in 1953. I cleaned it good, did not fire it yet, I'll try to this weekend.

I was wondering which is the best no-gunsmithing scope mount for this rifle, and if anyone got pics it can help. I read good thing about the S&K, now where can I buy this in Canada ?

Thanks a lot

Hi Bob!
Welcome to Lee Enfield addiction :)

In my humble experience I've found that the No1Mk3 isn't the best candidate for a no-gunsmith mount - although I admit I never saw the S&K mount. The S&K for the No4 and No5 Enfield is very good, so I can only assume that the one for the No1MK3 would do the job well?

I personally shoot almost all of my Lee Enfields just with their iron sight - except one that was sporterized past the reasonable point of no return (drilled receiver and shortened barrel), so that one has a mount and a scope.

Lou
