So the girlfriend was sort of Anti-Gun, she didn't understand why people wanted to own firearms. Then suddenly out of blue last week she said she wants to learn how to shoot precision and wants her own rifle. So I found a decently priced RPR in .243 here in the classifieds and bought it.

Yes her finger is in the trigger guard, I had told her about ACTS and PROVE but it slipped in behind the trigger just as I was about the take the photo. I pointed it out and she said she would try harder to remember next time. She had owned the gun for about 5 minutes when the picture was taken so I'm not going to fault her for it.

.243 is not a bad choice. What is she thinking about in terms of optics? And has she tried bags, a bi pod or is she going with a lead sled. Hope you folks have access to some land because most clubs have closed their doors because of COVID19. Hope she gets some shooting in.

Hell yeah, get her out shooting! Happy to see another one joining the group. But what the hell are you doing selling YOUR rifle???

Mainly I'm thinking of something a little more modern; Magazine fed, better optics, etc. Not like I HAVE to sell my rifle and if it doesn't sell then Im certainly not going to mind.

Optics wise will be nothing too pricey, yet. First we will see if she really takes off with it and since most of her shooting will be done at 100 yards to start until she learns. As for other stuff, probably going to go bipod. She thinks a lead sled would be "cheating". Don't know anyone here with land, but it's still -26 here most days so she's in no rush to get out yet.

RPR is ok, I suppose, but you know she’d like an M-40. Know where to find one ?

Well if she really takes to shooting I may just build her one in her size!

Great to see! I bought an RPR brand new, it’s a gen 3 chambered one 6mm Creedmoor which shoots the same diameter bullet. I bought it to shoot my first season or two of BC PRS matches to make sure I like it before building something of my own. Let me tell you she will enjoy the rifle! As a starter set up it runs great and produces great results if she does her part. Congrats and happy shooting!
