First Range Trip as a PAL Holder

I recently got my PAL and bought myself a Mossberg 590 on the EE forum. Now I want to take it out and try it. I was wondering what to bring to the range besides the obvious ear and eye pro, gun and ammo. Do I need a specific type of ammo (buckshot, slug)?

If youre going to silverdale you can only shoot slugs there. Bring targets, a stapler to staple said targets and dress warm, dont froget gloves.

You can shoot trap as well, bring some target loads in #7.5 or #8 shot and have fun.

Bring your PAL and range membership IDs. You might consider calling the range and ask if anyone would be interested in guiding you during your first visit. Every range has their procedures. Have someone show you through the first time so you do everything right and keep everyone happy.

I'm thinking Silverdale or Urban Tactical. Distance is about the same. I can shoot 00 Buck at UT but no skeet. My gun only has a 20" barrel so I'm not sure I would be allowed to shoot skeet with it?
