So, I'm excited to finally gain possession of my first pistol (Walther PPQ Navy). The transfer was initiated at a local store, in Ontario, on Friday June 3/2016. I'm wondering how long it will take to process? For some odd reason, I cant find any user feedback, that is recent. Most posts originate from 2012. find it odd that googling any combination of words, doesn't net an abundance of results? Would like to hear of other users times, and experiences.

I bought a Beretta 92FS online and picked up in store around early April. It took for me exactly one week. It was my first purchase and I was not a member of a gun club during the transaction.

I was told it usually takes 3 days to 1 week.

Mine took a week. I heard a month is not uncommon though

It all comes down to how quick your CFO is. Some guys have gotten approval in hours, some take weeks.

Did the store give you a transfer number? I've always been proactive whether I buy online or in store, I personally call the CFO the following day with my transfer reference # to follow up on it. The transfer is usually completed while I'm one the phone, I then ask them to email me the notice of transfer and statt (old way, pre C-42). Once I print it off its off to the store asap, or post office when it shows up in the mail. The hard part is waiting for the physical registration to show up, which has usually been a week on the nose.

Your process might differ slightly in Ontario, I'm in BC and the CFO out here is quite good. I made sure I already had club membership and my ltatt in hand when I did bought my first pistol, but now the att portion is attached electronically to your rpal upon transfer of your first restricted gun.

A good thread. I'm in the same boat except I haven't made my purchase yet. I'm in Ontario also. So far what I've done is just made preparations. Like picking a room where to put my gun-safe, installing a locking door-knob on the closet, I recently purchased my gun-safe and have put that in my lock-room. I'd like to pick up a solid steel carrying-case for transport before I put the money down for the pistol.

Couple months ago ,friend bought a restricted from a retired ''horseman''....took about 30 days to get reg.

last month, bought another restricted revolver from one of the big 2 stores in Nanaimo.....3 days....... go figure...

heck, today is week day 65 and still waiting for my rpal .
