Well I got off work early today......good thing I did cause I've been itching to get to the range with the SKS I bought Tuesday!
I'm Hooked:D
This rifle is a blast to shoot, well balanced, little recoil, nice sight picture,I loved it!
I started at 50 yards to see if the sights were at least on the paper....yep! Windage was spot on, I just have to play around with the elevation a little I was getting groups around the 2" with a flyer that would push it up to the 3-4inch range.....
moved out to 75 yards and found that the groups were getting a little tighter.....I'm guessing that this rifle tends to shoot better once fouled a little????
Out to 100 yards and I was getting back into shooting with iron sights. Boy did this bring me back to my younger years! ....now the groups are getting tighter, around 2-2.5 inches......I couldn't ask for better with this type of rifle!

Things I noticed shooting an SKS for the first time...

Balance was nice even if the length of the stock is a few inches short for my long arms.
Recoil was minimal....I could shoot this rifle all day long!
Brass lands on my head and into my hood.:D
You cannot find all the brass......I found 30 casings out of the 40 rounds I shot.
Accurate enough to hunt with.

I took a little video with my cell phone and thought I would post it.

looks great, this little rifles are a blast to shoot.

BTW you must have one of the super rare left handed SKS rifles...:D

actually my bad... mixed it up when watching...

hope you enjoy your SKS like a lot of us here...

I am not getting it either

butt of stock in his right shoulder, looking through the sights with right eye, and right hand trigger finger on the trigger....even the bolt handle is on the right hand side

what is left handed about this ?

Nice ;)
Seems like you just got to work on your flinch & your trigger. Then it will be smooth sailing.

Thanks, but the video is from a cell phone and is completely distorted, It does make it look like I'm flinching but trust me I'm not.........I worked on that many years ago with coaches prior to shooting in "Les Jeux du Quebec"
Nice to see others pointing out things they realise/see in a positve manner, too many folks just bash others to try to make themselves seem better! Good on you. :)
