first shotgun!

I have recently acquired my hunting license and am waiting on my gun license. I am wondering what a good all-around hunting shotgun would be for a newbie. I am looking to spend no more than $600 for my first gun. Any suggestions?

to be honest its kind of hard to go wrong with most gun. just get the one you like the most.

Join the EE ( equipment exchange) and you can find some quality used shotguns. I like Berettas and have at present an A303 semi auto, such guns come up from time to time in your price range.

Find yourself a used Remington 870 Wingmaster. A like new one will easily be in your price range and there are lots of them out there.

Combo deals. Remington and mossberg both have combo deals. Look in the ee. Just sold a mossberg with two barrels and scope for 425. Combo deals will give you two or three barrels. Good entry level guns for pumps.

Honestly, if I could go back, I'd get a maverick 88 and a marlin bolt .22 with iron sights, (you can scope it later), then spend the change on a bunch of ammo and shoot a LOT!
It's about quality and quantity.
Not to mention developing good shooting habits, that will lead to clean kills.

Go to wholesale sports if you have one near you.. See if they have any of the mossberg 500 or 590's left... They had the 500 on for $200 regular $349. The 590 was on for $240 and cant' rememeber regular price.... I bought a 500 a week ago and hoping to get out this weekend to try her out on dangerous paper targets
