Got my first SKS on Thursday, it is a 1954 and whatever a star and an arrow symbol is, Tula I think 
Used paint thinner and oil to take the cosmoline off, finally took it out to the range today. Anyway, should have bought one a long time ago, it's a complete blast. I shot 100 rounds of Baraul ammo. Seems to be decently accurate, kept all shots in 4" at 100 yards, less if I rest it. Easily minute of deer anyway. Now I want a few more, just so small and handy, good sights and soft shooting. Love it!
