I just acquired a Swedish AG42B Ljungman . Looks like it is on decent shape. I read that it is ammo sensitive. Has anyone here done the mod to the gas block? Where you remove the existing screw, and replace with one that is adjustable? I want to be able to fire factory ammo like Remington, Hornady, etc, not just milsurp. Has anyone done this, recommend it? Thanks..!

I have done it on two different rifles. The easiest way is with a modified set screw and jamb nut. The set screw gets an approx. 45 degree bevel filed on the end, and how much the bevel uncovers the gas tube when rotated dictates the amount of gas that gets let through. You start with the back side of the screw fully covering the gas tube opening, then turn the screw approx. 90 degrees (doesn't matter which direction) until the bevel uncovers about half the gas tube hole. Fire some rounds and adjust the screw accordingly to get the ejection pattern to about 6-10 ft with the ammo you are using.
