I saw the deal that one of the cgn sponsors just put up for a stripped nea lower and I decided I had to jump at it. I hope that was the right choice but it seemed like a really good deal. So many questions now that and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed. I've searched the forums and it seems like there's lots of good information but also lots of differing opinions. I would prefer to build this on a budget and snag other deals as they come up. It's that a good strategy or is there some things that rarely come up as deals or are just cheap enough I should buy as is. I'm not scared to tinker and I'm excited to learn more about the rifle while building it. Are the individual pieced trigger kits really that much of a pain? Is it worth it for some sort of straight drop in? Also I'm seeing that some uppers May not fit properly but can be made to fit fairly easily. Will that effect performance or reliability at all? Really looking for any advice that the great cgn community has to offer.

The price of new ARs has dropped drastically in the last few months, so building your own from scratch may not be the bargain it once was. Build your own for reasons other than economy!

You won't save any money but you will end up with exactly what you want, if you know what that is.

You can find plenty of you-tube videos showing how to put together a lower and an upper. Be prepared to spend a bit of money on tools as well unless you know people with them. You need more than a punch set and a crescent wrench to put one together ;)
When your ready to install the barrel let me know, if you ever come to Edmonton area I can give you a hand, I have a reaction rod and an Armourer's wrench.
