This is the first time I have hunted with a 9.3X62,bagged this moose with one shot.270 grain speer at 2500fps.Dropped him right in his tracks.Very impressed with the peformance.I have hunted for over thirty years with a 358 Norma but starting to like this 9.3

Dogs?? Bears?? come on you guys- it's those yukon ticks - like there moose they are huge
why you always carry a 22 when moose hunting - after moose is down you use it to get rid of the ticks on it -
NICE MOOSE
:D

Where did you hit him and how far away was he?
He was about 150 yards looking directly at me,I held the crosshairs just under his nose.Hit him in the base of the neck, the bullet went through the neck and up into the hump breaking his back.Smashed about 4 or 5" of bone, haven't tried to recover the bullet as yet, there may not be any to recover.
Oh wait, that's a dog
That,s my Standard Schnauzer Nixie, she loves to hunt, she doesn't know she not a hunting dog and i don't think i'm going to tell her.

Nice moose River Rat! And a very interesting calibre your shooting.

While your not telling your dog she isn't a hunting pooch, don't tell the moose that your bullet is 200fps less than a 375 H and H with the same bullet weight; and i bet they'll keep falling down like that 8)
