First time I've ordered ammo online, question regarding an "adult signature"

First time I've ordered ammo online, question regarding an "adult signature"

According to the UPS tracking it says they require a signature from somebody who is 19+ http://i.imgur.com/Pe0a7iT.png

But I am 18. To me this makes zero sense why it's 19 to sign for ammunition that I can legally purchase at 18, & I'm honestly not sure if this is enforced. Any 18 year old gun owners have experience with this?
 
while i'm not 18( wish i was though) may i suggest that if you think this might be an issue at time of delivery, have package re-routed to local gun store for signature etc. Yes you may have to pay for said gun store doing this for you, but I'm sure your local shop would be willing to help out. Just a suggestion.
 
No gun store in my town. (Yeah I know it sucks) I guess I'll just hope one of my parents is home when it arrives just in case.
 
haha, there was a post the other day how ammo was left with a 13 y/o when the package required an adult signature. I'd find it pretty ironic if they require an adult signature from you.

That makes me feel better even though the thought of a 13 year old being able to sign for ammo or possibly even a gun scares me. Thanks. Do you have a link to that post?
 
Dude, I've had pistols delivered to me from online stores. I had my ID ready in hand to show it to them. Niether postal/courier service wanted to see it. I was told "I don't need to see that...........please sign your name here in the green square...........Thanks!

In BC you have to be 19+ to be an adult and to buy ammo.

If you aren't in BC, my guess is that the store is in BC so they put the 19+ because that is the law where they are.

In BC you have to be 19+ to buy ammo, alcohol or cigarettes.

My cousin was 18 in BC and had no issues buying a rifle and ammo there. I bought the beer and smokes.

The last rifle I had delivered required the girl at Canada Post to check my ID and you would have thought someone had sprung a surprise calculus test on her when the message popped up. She was about as confused as it gets.
 
My Son got his Minors PAL in BC when they interviewed me one of the first questions asked was are you ok with your son being able to buy Ammo without you. This was the BC office I was talking to. So im not sure if you are correct

I guess I should have mentioned, I was home when these pistols were delivered. Off course, if I had to go pick them up at the post office or the courier, they would have had to ID me and that's when I would have shown them my DL

While the member is legal to buy ammo with proof of valid PAL it becomes a moot point when the Delivery Service has Stipulations as to who is allowed to sign for it.
Why worry about it (signature required) until the time comes when the courier company is knocking at your door.
