First time Ordering from Epps and probably the last.

I've been at Ellwood Epps in person in the past but since I moved to BC this was my first time ordering online from them. Here's the timeline:

12th of may: I place an order online for a Burris scope and I select the fastest and most expensive option UPS Express at a cost of 52.38 with an estimate delivery of may 13th (I don't believe such an optimistic timeline but the 15th or 16th would be a reasonable expectation since it's air freight.)

16th of may: Still no shipping notification so I email asking for an update and get reminded by an unnamed customer service rep that the estimates on the websites are only estimates... Yes I know but maybe strive to be closer to those estimates... In the same email I'm also told it should ship that day (the 16th)

17th of may in the early morning: I get a notification, They shipped my scope through Canada post's snail mail  and now the estimated delivery is may 27th. That's 2 weeks past the original estimate. Oh and Canada post might go on strike on the 22nd of may so I might not get my scope for a lot longer now. Perhaps over a month.

I asked at a minimum to get refunded the extra I paid in shipping over the standard snail mail that was under $20. For context I'm a retail store owner myself (small 2 person operation) and ship all over Canada multiple times a week. One thing I don't do is bait and switch my customers. Charging them for premium shipping and sending their order snail mail with Canada post when they are on the brink of a possible strike.

To be honest Epps probably lost my business for ever but they have a small chance to redeem themselves and make it kinda right.

I'll update this post as the situation develops.

Happens all over.
My last 2 orders from a site vendor shipped Canada Post even though I selected the UPS box
If the shipping was free or flat rate no big deal but I paid 3 times the price to get the fastest UPS service and I get literally the slowest method of shipping available in Canada short of them walking it over from Ontario to BC. I could drive to Ontario AND BACK faster than that.

Yup, I choose UPS so it's delivered to my door and I don't have to drive into town to pick it up.

It's holding me back from a larger purchase from the same vendor as I don't want my item stick in Canada Post limbo until the strike is over.

I'd never order from EPPS though.
Its been said that they are actively working with the government to help confiscate guns

Update on 20th of May:
They offered to refund me the shipping. So in the end I saved $20 and basically just got free snail mail shipping on my scope. IF Canada Post doesn't go on strike then maybe I'll get it 4-5 days before my hunt. Might have to go iron sights on that one if I don't find time mid week to zero it.

Still not impressed they sent it snail mail but I'll give it to them at least they made things right money wise. Went from a bad customer experience to a neutral one.

Wouldn't buy from them again if time was of the essence but probably would if I'm not in a rush.

This is what kills me with firearms retailers. They should be breaking every law possible.
I just watched an LCBO get robbed live at its location . The media people who filmed it gave the police the address of the getaway vehicle and the police and LCBO aren't interested in placing charges. Firearms owners are the one thing that prevents our fascist government from implementing a pre WW2 German police force onto us.
As for Epps, they should be ashamed for collaborating to criminalize lawful citizens.
