First Time trap today

I shot my first round of trap today out at the Waterford Gun club.
Only broke a few clays in my first round, but started doing better in round 2 and 3.

Had a lot of fun and the people at the club are really friendly, they gave me a few pointers on how to shoot trap.

Was a good day at the range and I will definitely be going back on my next days off.

when i got home, i started immediately filling out the membership application.
only problem is that they aren't open Wednesday, Friday or Sunday

I only shot 3 rounds of trap then everyone stopped for lunch, so i ended up going home.
 
Great club, as you said great folks, I'm a member there. The club is operated by volunteers, that is why it is one of the least expensive clubs around. They cut the grass, fix the machines, maintain the buildings, load the machines, unload trailer loads of targets, etc. Just reorganize your weekly activities. Many clubs are only open two days per week. I suspect that if someone volunteered, they could be open every day of the week, but then you wouldn't have time to shoot when you were volunteering (LOL). Welcome to a great club.
 
I have shot trap and International skeet since 1975. It is so bloody addicting, and is just like golf. One day everything is going right and the next day you have changed something oh so little and are missing birds that you have smashed for years. It is so much fun !! The people for the most part are great. A super sport that sadly gets little attention, and maybe that is a good thing, as long lineups to get on the range are rare. Have fun with it and stay with it when things get tough, it's really worth it !
 
Went out for another try again today, I did a lot better.
I managed 18/25 in round 1, 19/25 in round 2 and 21/25 in round 3.
only reason I stopped shooting is that I ran out of money, had to pay for my membership.
