First time using wipeout

x2 on the Wipeout - I have been using it for a while and I think it is pretty darn good stuff. For some high volume rifles I prefer Sweets 7.62 but for overall use Wipeout is hard to better.

Good for touch-up, but I have never found it good for removing carbon in the throat area that adheres like ceramic. your results may vary.

I have been looking for a product like this for some time. Anyone know who carries it in Vancouver?

Reliable does. The first time I used it it shot foam into my face there was so much pressure :D. I've found that it works pretty well, although I've followed the routine on the can and still found copper fouling in the bore with a more aggressive cleaner.

Fantastic idea for sure! I'm going to do that before I use the stuff again. I had no idea it expanded so much so I used way too much at first..

That and the stuff stinks. Had to leave the room for a bit so I wasn't inhaling so much ammonia.

It did clean up the barrel nice though.. I was cleaning two barrels at once. My custom 260 and regular remington 700.. goes to show the benefits of a custom barrel as it came out cleaner way faster. I think I could have pulled a whole package of patches through my .308 and it would still have some stuff on it.

I'll have to try and find the picture I have of my first time with the foam monster. Lesson learned. Shake the can very well, before you spray it in the barrel. Otherwise you can have half the can used up before it starts turning from liquid to foam. And of course, when its out of the can, you can't stop it. All you can do is scoop it into a garbage can with your hands.

Foam earplug in the chamber, introduce the Wipe-Out from the muzzle end. Let it sit for a few hours, and clean away. Doesn't take that much, sometimes several apps.

You should post this in the clever invention thread. Good idea!

A guy Ft Mac has an even better system, he drills out the flash hole the solders a 17HMR empty case head to case head. The 17 fits right in the Wipeout clear plastic tube, no muus no fuss every time. This fine fellow did one for all of my various cartridges, so I have them in 222,223,204,257,6.5x55,7x57. I told him he should try harder to sell these as I think there are a mighty good idea. FS

I have always put the foam in from the muzzle, used a rag to plug the chamber, then tape the muzzle, to keep the foam in.

i use it on my corrosive ammo rifles, when finish shooting, close actoin, fill with wipeout, when i get home the muck pours out, never have rust problems...
