First two SKS for me

Wow, that's great info. So, they put mosin marks on sks rifles? Would it be more likely that it was just a repair being as there is no refurb mark on the cover?

I'm gonna check out that mosin thread.

Not so much a Mosin mark as it is a mark of the Arsenal. At some point it went there for work. I think the stock was replaced based on it having no cartouche stampings around the crossbolt and from the pic the stampings on the buttstock don't look "original" from what I've seen. I am by no means an expert though.
 
Even if she's a refurb, I still love that little gun.

She shoots 2" groups with Barnaul hollowpoint 123gr rounds at 100m and opens to 3" groups with the non corrosive surplus that crappy tire sells. Found out about the surplus groups today when I put 250 rounds through her this afternoon. When the barrel heats up, POI shifts up and to the left by an inch and a quarter.

Had her hot enough to smoke the gun oil off the barrel and gas tube. Broke her in good today.

That's pretty good for an SKS and surplus ammo.....nice shooting!!!
