First off I would like to thank Rick (ATR) and his staff (Pete) for getting me the componants as quick as they did, as well TR & DD from this site you know who you are for getting me geared up on such short notice and shooting and advice from a few guys on load development.

First off I had no experience or any Idea what I was in for when I I light this baby up, the first shot was a learning experience and after about 10 rounds the comfort feeling started to set in and I could enjoy the 50 for it really was.

All and all it was a learning weekend and load development weekend, however saying this....There is simply NOTHING FRIGGING LIKE IT.. it is the true super car of the rifle world. The power you feel, and see is a shock and awe type feeling, nothing to compare to. I have some big boy rifles in 45 cals and some speedy ones too, however the 50 stands alone.

I just hope everyone once in there life can experience what this cartridge is all about

Accuracy was outstanding, with A-max bullets and very good even with 647FMJs and Accurate Bullet COs as well, cheers to the guys in Salmon Arm for making such an excellent projectile.

Just had to share a great experience.

No photos , was a wet weekend

Congradulations on your 50 BMG. There really is nothing that can compare to the ####s and giggles you get from touching of a 50 BMG.
You are hooked up with the right guy [ Rick ] to get you going in the loooong distance shooting game !!!
When we got Rick to build our 50 BMG for us we told him we wanted 10 inch groups at 1000 yards out of it, we are only getting 2- 4 inch groups!! How is yours doing?

well so far i have not shot much paper but it blows the hell out of 5 gal pails at rocks at 500 yards out..

Will cut the same hole at 100 yards as I sighted in.

What are you guys using for projectiles..and powders

We use the A-Max with 226 gr. US 869. Oal is 5.91 inchs.
We were getting very consistent 5 inch groups then i started to anneal the necks and the groups shrunk to the 2-4 inch groups[ 3-4 shots ]. I was popping one shot out on the 5 shot groups but i got Rick to add a 5 inch plate to the bottom of the stock to stop the torque .To busy with work to get it out but there is light at the end of the tunnel so should be out to get some much over due " thunder therapy ".

Rick also put a new rail on so the 1 mile smile is on it's way!!!

Don't mean to hi-jack......but...
Anybody tried those "Accurate Bullet Company" 750 projos?
I'm having trouble gettin' 'em to shoot.

Jason.... Buddy..... we gotta get together,,,,, 1760??? Nice!

Justins1877 - "Do you know what shooting a .50 BMG tastes like? Dirt and gun powder. "

Only if your shooting a 50 with a Steyr muzzle brake... mine doesn't do that, everyone AROUND me thinks it tastes like dirt and gun powder, laff.

Mike.
