Shot my first wolf the other day. I had just got out of my truck, grabbed my rifle (tikka t3 in 308 Norma), binos and moose call, I was just reaching to open my jockey box to grab one of those insense sticks for moose when I happened to look down the road in front of my pickup. This guy was standing about 200 yards down just looking at me. I couldn't believe it. So I took a couple steps toward to use my mirror as a rest and he actually took a couple steps towards me. All that was going through my head was holy f@@k a wolf!!!!! Over and over again. I put the crosshairs on his chest and prayed he'd stand still. I had to sit down for a few minutes after I was shaking so bad.
