Magwell/DP/For Para Ordnance HiCap/Standard, Pin, Black (Must Have DP Basepad for Magwell to Fit)

Magwell for Para. Easy to Install. Installs just like any DP Magwell - simple. Slide it on and tap in the new magwell pin that comes with your new DP Magwell. Sounds simple? It really is. If you have a hammer, you can install this baby. Be safe and unload any firearm before any work is started. In minutes, you will be reloading like never before. May require modifying magazine basepads. Dawson Para Basepad requires no modification. Made of T6 aircraft grade aluminum. CNC machined to exact tolerances for a tight precision fit. Black.

Did it really drop in without any filing or grinding?

Does it still fit in the box?

I had one - I actually had to file down one of the holes on the magwell, as I couldn't seat it deep enough to slide the pin in.

However, after that it fit perfect - no mods to the frame were required.

Keep in mind that the standard para mags (and mec-gars) will NOT work with this magwell - you need a straight basepad, with no 'flare' on the front end. YOu'll need aftermarket basebads like Viper or equivalent.

I had to remove a fair bit of material from the sides of the magwell to fit the IDPA box, probably 1/2 hour or more work. The DP base pads fit and work perfectly as noted, but they made the gun too "tall" to fit in the box, and too heavy for ESP. I swapped for some Arredondo flat BP, shaped them appropriately to match the angle of the DP well and everything is fine - the mags fit in cleanly, and drop perfectly.

Wendell,
I bought one from Dawson about 4 years ago for my P16-40.

Did it really drop in without any filing or grinding?
Answer: Yes, pin lined right up... great fit... the only thing I did was some light hand filing to blend where the DP magwell met up with the mouth of the frame.

Does it still fit in the box?
Answer: No, mine was too wide to fit the height of the IPSC Standard Box... if I recall, I had to grind about a mm off the width in total.

Hope that helps.
