Fitting a .321" bullet in a .323" case neck

Hello CGN,

I am in the process of reloading for my Gewehr 88s and I have a pack of .321" bullets ready to go. My cases, however, are formed to my Gewehr 98s and have a .323" neck now. The .321" bullets do fit but not are not snug and can be pulled out by hand. I am wondering if I can use something, such as a pair of needle nosed plyers, and lightly press the case neck down onto the base of the bullet once it is seated to ensure a snug fit ?

take the expander button out of the the die. run it thru again after depriming, check neck at that time. Or buy another expander ball, and polish it down to 321

I am thinking about purchasing another die set strictly for my Gewehr 88s as I do not want to be pulling my dies apart to swap expander balls. Money is, however, tight at the moment so I am hoping for a simpler solution at this time.

If you polish the expander button down, it can then work well in both calibers.

In the meantime, just remove decapper rod and neck size the brass. That should be tight enough.
