If I already have a M70 CRF rifle and purchase a different take off barrel for it, will the new barrel be able to be fit to the action? (by a gunsmith)

I only ask because the barrel would have the notch cut in it for the extractor and may not line up when headspaced.

I don't know how the factory does it, but it will most likely index and have the correct headspace. Some are torqued very tight. Your smith will require a solid barrel vise and action wrench.

But only if it is a pre-64 action and barrel. A post-64 barrel, though it will probably headspace, will be unlikely to register. Likewise, a pre-64 barrel on a post-64 "Classic" action will probably headspace but is unlikely to register.
