Fitting VZ mags into a AK pouch, any luck?

Im looking at getting a chest rig to hold my VZ mags in 3 gun, THE CATCH BEING, im trying to go for a cold war era USSR kindof looking theme so the more traditionalistic and old school styled the chest rig is, the better ! AKA NO HSGI tacos.


Id like to use old surplus AK chest rigs, but am unsure if they will fit the larger VZ mags, does anybody have experience with this? any suggestions?

I have another one in woodland camo that holds 8 mags (4 pouches)

Most rigs made for the AK will fit VZ58

That's the CR7 from condor right ? Haha. I just ordered one last night! It was either that, a type 63 rig, or FN FAL rig.... I wanted to carry 5+ mags for 3 gun so went with the cr7.

Fits a total of 12 magazines + 2 coupled on the rifle. Here is what it looks like when its all closed.

Fvck me I just ordered the NCStar one from Canada Ammo.
Looks like I'll need to order this one now too

The NcStar one is basically the same but it has bungee retention cord instead of flaps with buckles.

All my Warsaw Pact pouches accept the VZ mags with no problem.
My Strikehard AK and Tactical Tailor AK chest rigs accept the VZ mags no problem.
