I'd like to lower my P.O.I. on my trap shotgun. The adjustments of my RIB is at thé maximum, higher front sight and lower rear RIB adjustment.
M'y question, can i fix something like B-fast adjustable heel click-stop dial wheel like on thé Beretta 694 Steelium?
A gunsmitter could cut thé front part of thé RIB and install somethink like that or something else to give me a way to raise thé front sight to allow to lower thé P.O.I .
Thank you for your suggestions.

On the back of the rib it should have a position 1 and 2?

Not sure if possible to be 1 on the back then two on the front if your rib works that way simply push the front indicator out and change it over to the two side. When adjusting that rib always make sure the back set screw is loosened off.

Maybe lower your comb a bit more if you can? 1/16" equals 2" at 40 yds....or so they say.

My comb is on lower position, i have a Canuck k500 ans thé RIB bas 3 positions, i pût higher in front and lower rear and i still shoot too high.
That why i though to install or cut My high RIB to allow me to pût thé front sight higher.
At addarib, there is not a short part of RIB than i could install on My company RIB on My shotgun.
Or cut thé fiber optic sight on front and pût a white bead higher than My fiber optic sight, your opinion please.
Thank for your help.

How high is it shooting and at what distance?
Choke tubes tried a different one?
O/U combo? Both barrels or single barrel poi the same.

When you say it is shooting high, do you mean that there is a lot of air between the rib and the target when it breaks or do you have to cover the target to break it? If the target is too high above the rib then, yes, you may want to raise the rib. If you are covering the target and want to see it to break it then you raise the comb. I am surprised that Add a Rib didn't have something you could use but you could glue anything on your rib to raise it. Use RTV sealant and stick a piece of aluminum or plastic on the rib to raise it. I don't see how cutting the rib will gain you anything.

Have you done any poi testing? Do you have access to a pattern board or backstop you can use to test it? When I check poi on my guns I put a sheet of cardboard on the pattern board with a 2"-3" black dot in the center. I use the tightest choke I have to create as small a mass as possible and shoot the ammo I normally use. I take aim at the black dot placing the bottom of it on the top of my bead so I see a picture like a figure 8. Some say a solid rest is preferable but I just shoot off-hand doing my best to hold steady and squeeze the trigger slowly like a rifle. I do three shots then check the mass to see where it is hitting. If it needs adjusting to my preferred poi then I make the necessary adjustments and repeat the same procedure again with a fresh piece of cardboard. I bring a stack of carboard with me in case it takes a few attempts to get where I want to be. My personal preference is the center of the mass hitting centered on the top half of the dot. That gives me about a 3" poi above poa which results in about a 60/40 to 65/35 pattern at normal shooting range.

Talk to these guys before you start hacking your 694 apart. Easiest way to lower your POI.

He doesn't have a 694 he has a Canuck K500. He was thinking he could modify the rib on his gun with an adjustable turn dial like the Beretta 694 adjustable rib has. I'm curious if he is a fellow that shot on my squad at Western Zone in saturdays 200 singles championship? The fellow that shot on my squad had the pitch adjusted at a real severe taper and seemed to be struggling for consistent hits. That can cause your gun to shoot way high or way low as well not mention pound your cheek into submission.

I'm slow (Perazzi shooter) but I figured it out. :d You're right about the patterning board. Until you know where your gun is shooting you're just guessing. If the rib is all the way to the top and he is still seeing too much gap between the bird and the bead then he has a fit issue.

Laugh2ME TOO!!!

Agreed and with all the adjustment feature on that Canuck he should be able to get a figure 8 sight picture and get the gun adjusted to where it shoots where he is looking. There is a fellow at our club with the identical gun and it has a lot of adjustments available. The fellow who shoots at our club has it dialed in and absolutely destroys targets with it.

OP are you a member at the Edmonton Gun Club? If so they have a pattern plate there with a grease bucket and roller. I'm sure if you asked one of the fellows there to help you out they would gladly go to the pattern plate with you and help you determine your poi and figure out what you need to do from there.

The OP must have given up. I see his gun listed in the EE. Too bad. That gun has enough adjustment, it should shoot where he wants it to. I suspect he will have problems with the next gun too.

As spank has said shooting where he is looking in another thread hopefully he sticks with the game.

Frustrating for the op hang in there.

The OP sent me a PM and I offered him some ideas after answering some questions I had for him. He sounded quite happy and was going to try some ideas I gave him on adjusting his stock and said he'd keep me posted after trying them. I was surprised to hear he advertised the gun in the EE only a day or two later. I haven't heard back from him to know what he found out. I can only surmise either it didn't get the stock set to his preferred sight picture or he just said to heck with it and is going to go another route entirely in the form of a different gun. He is a real nice fellow to chat with.

Maybe he broke a real good score with it as that’s a good enough reason to sell a gun.

Friend I shoot trap with has the same gun. Has everything adjusted to the max and still shoots 100% high.

Fellow at our club shoots with one and he shoots it very well. I asked him the other night if he had any issues setting it up and he just chuckled and said "I didn't do anything with it. I tried it out of the box and it shot great for me so I haven't touched it. I don't even know what choke is in it?"
