Can anyone suggest a nice light fixed power scope (1.5x, 2x, 2.5x or 3x) in the under $300 range? For a light kicking centerfire. Thanks.

I'd go for a Nikon Monarch 4 or 6x or a leupold FX11 in 4x. Both can be had in the $300 range and both are excellent scopes.
4 and 6x are a little large for the close cover I hunt. Any other ideas?

Win/64,
There is a 2.5 X FX-11 in the Ultralightweight series. I have one with heavy duplex on my .416 Rigby. Short, lightweight, nearly indestructable and about the longest eye-relief of any conventional scope. A fine close range scope, but not good for much else. Cheap too, for a Leupold.
Don't get it confused with the FX 11 2.5 X 28mm, that is a extended eye-relief Scout scope.

Weaver K2.5

Specs from Weaver's web site:
Weaver model # 849413

Reticle is Duplex, and apparently it's now only in gloss black finish
