Hey guys, I’m looking to put a Magpul PRS Gen 2 on my 102. I don’t really like the fit trying to use the factory BCL tube & the PRS.

Do I just need an A2 buffer tube & AR10 rifle length buffer spring and re use the factory buffer to make it work properly ?

Can anybody confirm this for me ?

Thanks gents

The factory bcl is between a carbine and rifle length. I think might need a rifle length buffer 308 buffer as well as the tube and spring. Be warned though it sounds like people have had a lot of trouble getting a rifle length tube that also retains the buffer retainer. May need to go with a jp captured buffer system.

It's probably easier to just take a back saw to the factory buffer tube like I did. Just take 1/4" off and it will fit just fine. There is lots of material still at the back side ofthe buffer tube. Just slap some paint on the bare metal and you're good to do. No messing with new springs, buffers lur receiver extensions. And if you want to swap back too a carbine sock because the prs stock weights 20lbs it's easy peasy.

If you cut off 1/4 inch off the buffer tube (easy peasy), you can fit a MAGPUL Gen 3 PRS on it, but a Gen 2, you will need to change the buffer, tube and spring.

Good luck with your 102.

Yes sorry forgot to mention I was using a gen 3. If you take less than 1/4" off the ramp to the adjustment section will interfere with the forward qd mount
