I just got everything setup tonight, all the dies are functioning as they should, but there seems to be some difficulty when the case is in the FL sizer. Takes extra umpfh, even more than what I'm use to.

Am I missing something?

The die is touching the shellplate when the ram is fully up, and the decapping pin is at the prescribed length.

Thanks for the help.

It takes me a little extra umpfh to cycle the press when a case is in the FL sizer. Not drastic though and it was the same with my Lee 1000.

Curious as to what brand you are using? I am using Lee dies and lately I have had some grief sizing them small enough to be able to speedload my 38's for PPC shooting.

I bought the Hornady titanium nitride dies, which is weird because I heard these dies were very smooth.

The vids I watched on youtube and the installation dvd seemed much easier than mine as well.

Set the toolhead in the upper position, then screw the die down to make contact with the shellplate.

What caliber are you using? The one thing that comes to mind is your brass. If it's "Glocked" it might be fun to resize.

I'm reloading for 9mm, for the most part my brass is 1F from unknown source, but this particular brass in question came from my glock.

There isn't really any bulge from what I can see though.

I did try using some small amount of case lube (not dillon) but there was still more friction than I'd expect.

I'm gonna try tinkering with it a bit more, I didn't spend a great deal of time on it yet.

Your press is built like a tank, and has more than enough leverage to get the job done. Other ideas include, how much resistance is there without brass on the shellplate?

I'm sorry but I don't know what glocked is? I'm assuming that its something a glock does to brass. What does it do?

Glocks have a unsuported chamber and on high pressure rounds will give the brass a beer belly ---> that is hard to resize depending on your pressure of your load

i think redding has produced one for the 40 cal that restores the base to factory spec

i have picked up range brass that when resizing at 90% of ram stroke will all most give brass the appearance of a belted magnum ( i stop and toss brass in scrap bucket )

On my progressive, I find a light shot of spray lube IN the sizing die makes it run like greased goose sh... well you know.

Thanks for clarifying that for me. Now I know what glocked brass is even though I don't have a glock and don't believe I ever will.

Back the die off just a tetch (few thou) then happily crank away. Your Hornady AP is a rugged machine. "Resistance is futile ;)".
