I have a flare gun with plastic birds head shaped grips,3.5 in. barrel with a 26.5mm bore. The only markings on it is a broad arrow stamp on right side of frame, serial no. on right side of barrel and M601 on hammer. Any info about maker, who used them, value, etc will be appreciated.MODS may Delete

Sounds lke the standard 1" Very pistol. They were available in brass as well as the cheaper stamped steel. Usually the bakelite grips have started to curl and crack by now. They could also be found with aluminum grips.
My understanding was that Webley made a lot of them, but they were so cheap they didn't want to put their name on it.

Value can range from $20 if the grips are toast, to about $100 if it's in good shape. The holster can be found in leather or canvas, and will run you from $50 to $100. The 1" flare rounds could be found in a variety of colours, and usually sell for $5 to $10 each. I have Red, Green, and White (illuminating) for mine.
