I am looking at putting a Law Tactical folder on my Colt MMR build but if I have done the math correctly By measuring the rifle to the end of the receiver and adding the advertised length of the folder, it is going to put it a c*nt hair under 26” when folded. I can of course install a longer flash hider but has anyone used or created a flash hider spacer like this? https://adcofirearms.com/shop/categories/muzzle-devices/kac-spacer/

I don't want to spend the big bucks on a folder just to find out its unusable.

Legit? Like you think you know something....

26" OAL or 660mm, is only really for non restricted firearms. The Colt is already restricted, so doesn't matter the OAL you make it. The classification doesn't change. Only way you make it a prohib if you. Put a 105mm barrel, or hack down the barrel. But swapping factory made barrel is fine.

So installing the folder won't change the classification.

Not completely correct...

You can make a Restricted firearm Prohibited if you cut it down to an overall length of less than 660mm or cut the barrel to less than 457mm.

Prohibited firearms include:

rifles and shotguns that have been altered by sawing or other means so that their barrel length is less than 457#mm or their overall length is less than 660 mm

Also, you can't make a rifle prohibited by installing a barrel that's less than 105mm. That only applies to hand guns.

Prohibited firearms include:

Handguns with a barrel length of 105 mm or less

OP, you are fine. You fall within' this one. It's already restricted, so it's not relevant

Restricted firearms include:

Rifles and shotguns that can be fired when their overall length has been reduced by folding, telescoping or other means to less than 660 mm

I was speaking about ARs here. You cannot cut down a AR buffer tube, because it won't work. Doubt you want a bolt carrier in the face/shoulder. So really only one that applies is the barrel being cut down.

Yes and I said
So installing the folder won't change the classification.

Put it on. They are pretty cool and functional. I have see they on Stag 10. It just makes them more compact for transporting and storage.
