Hi there - my search fu is coming up empty, so I wanted to tap the forum for input.

I have a totally stock Mossberg 500 Persuader in 12 gauge, synthetic stock and 18.5" barrel. I'd like to see about getting a front end that has the ability to mount a flashlight onto it. I know there are a number of options for doing this, like mounting a rail bracket or a flashlight mount onto the barrel, but I'd like to avoid that if at all possible. I know surefire makes a replacement front grip/front end that has an integrated socket and pressure switch for a flashlight, but the price was far too great for my taste. Are there any less expensive grip replacement options out there?

Any help is appreciated.

You could try just zip strapping a flashlight to the mag tube. Use 2 or 3 on a LED flashlight that has the ON switch at the back so you can just push it.

I'd recommend a flashlight mount however.

Surefire grips can recoil into your hand pretty bad.

A Fenix TK11 or TA30 or similar quality light will work well on a shotgun, the TA30 has a spring behind the LED assembly to absorb the recoil, don't go with a cheap light, it will break eventually, I broke two alteady.

On my 590 I have a TA30 attached to this ht tp://www.laserlyte.com/Gun_Sight_Accessories/ADP-TRIR-140/index.html with 1" scope rings.
