Hey guys, I started doing a little build on a Winchester 1400 I have, basically just to see how I like it. I have a SJ long rail on it's way, which I plan on mounting a red dot/buis on, and I'd like to mount a light on it just because. I'm just wondering what your opinions are for a mount.
Basically, I'm wondering if I should go with an offset mount, on the top rail. Looking at something like the Viking tactical mount. I've read good stuff about them, and the price point is pretty nice.
Other option would be a barrel mount like a Mesa tactical unit. Looks like a really nice piece, but it's also about double the price using my existing top rail.
The main thing I'm concerned about is whether or not something like the Viking (or similar offset mount, on the top rail) is going to interfere with my field of view? I can't imagine it will be much of an issue, especially with AR height sights, but just wanted to make sure.
