I received a letter from a collections agency today, apparantly I owed $22 to UPS. Called the number and it was for some car parts I ordered a few months ago. Got raped on fees in the first place (the shipper said they would use USPS, they used UPS, and my wife took the delivery). Though the fees were paid to the driver, apparently they wanted more. But no bill from UPS, no contact at all, the first asking for $ came from a collections agency, with a notice that 'if not paid in the next 10 days, your credit could be damaged, etc'.
Know what's crazy, this is the second letter I've ever received from a collections agency. The first was about two years ago, also after receiving a UPS package.
What kind of #### sucking ####ing company uses collection agencies rather than sending a bill?
I guess they must deal with a lot of disgruntled 'customers' and figure it's easier to play hardball right off the start.
A $140 package with UPS costs $40+? Just received a $9000 package from FedEx, brokerage fee, $7.
I ####ING HATE UPS. I'm generally against government intervention in almost anything, but I wish the govt would look into UPSs business practices.
