If the lower is machined right the rear upper lug for assembly should prevent it functioning an AR upper. Wouldn't even close.

That thing is pretty cool, too bad I already have a NR .45 cal carbine... But it certainly looks like the upper, lower and bolt are totally proprietary; so I can't see why this wouldn't go NR with an appropriate barrel.

The lower looks way shorter than an AR, so it doesn't likely even have the room for the sear shelf at all. And with the takedown pin at the top, I don't think all the duct tape in the world would make an AR upper work with this.
