Flip-up covers

I've always wanted to get flip-up lens covers such as the butler creek kind, but my scope is AO, would it still work? I need to find out if the AO on my scope turns all the way around, but if it doesn't then it should still work? Would there be other options would there be for lens covers that stay on the scope, such as see-through lens covers?
