For you waterfowlers out there, anyone have a solid offering in a floating shotgun case thats worth looking at and won't fall apart after 1 or 2 seasons. Pile of mixed reviews online so asking here for any real world experiences with something that is worth putting a few bucks down on and will last. Tired of the chinese junk that is on offer at the usual big box and chain stores.

I have two of these and they're on year 9 or 10, still going strong.

Never tested if it actually floats, but seems like it would. I prefer my waterfowl cases to unzip the entire length so it's easy to dry/air out.

Browning makes what you are looking for.
As do many top manufacturer's of shotgun cases.
But, I would go with a Browning myself.

I got something similar at Cabela's in the U.S. years before they came to B.C. Still going but I tore the strap off and had to Mcgiver a new one on with a piece of nylon webbing around the pointy end.

I purchased a floating rifle case from cabbalas almost 5 years ago and it is still good. I got the northern flight double shotgun case from them about two years ago and it is like new.
I did get a VISM NcStar double rifle case that fell apart after like 3 month. I got the store to replace it but that fell apart like 6 month later too.

main thing is to get it from a reliable retailer. someone you trust to replace it if there is any issues.

Before the days of readily available gear-keeper, when duck hunting out of a canoe. We'd make our own lanyard with a old telephone cord

That is what we use and they are great cases! That said mine is always secured to the canoe in a way I can pull the rifle out in a hurry w/o needing two hands!

that is the one i use as well. but not secured and i just added a dog floating device just in case ... i learnt that when guiding in northern quebec where an hunter with another guide lost his rifle.

the Kolpin DryArmor gun case is really slick. It is 100% waterproof so gun stays dry if it takes a dunk. The case is also semi ridged and very well padded. They are on sale pretty often and Im really happy with mine.
