Didn't want to hijack the turkey choke thread again. Took this, this afternoon. 4 more to the right outside the picture and two more at the water. My sump pump drains right where you see only the back of one in the middle. Picked up a cleaning kit today and got the 870 ready. Was supposed to go put some shells through it today but a snow storm put a stop to that. My neighbor said he gets one every year from his back porch. I plan on doing the same.

There are a couple that may not fit in my fryer.

I've been keeping track of them all winter. Tossing out some food every once in a while. Enough to keep them interested. But not enough that they rely on it.

Last year they were around like crazy.. Then April 25th rolled around and the birds were gone.

Actually, to be more specific, the hens were still around. Toms nowhere to be seen. They know...

Figured I’d revive my own thread. I have a week off for turkey season this year. Same backyard. Hope they stay around this year. Got a decoy and a box call.

Be careful with feeding and then hunting... there are specific laws regarding "baiting" turkeys. Couple nice birds there... good luck.

Tons of them south of Ottawa outside Kemptville. Few days ago at dusk, saw about 30 deer grazing in a farmer's field along the 416, then yesterday, saw about 60 turkeys in the very same field by the highway, plus about 4 or 5 Toms on full display. Wonder if the landowner knows he/she has a buffet sitting on their doorstep. lol

The picture I took didn’t turn out well. I was at a buddies in Rockland and when we were heading into town there were so many geese and turkeys it was insane.

crash277, I am about 15 mins from Rockland and there seems to be turkeys everywhere, should be a good season ... i'll check some cams I have on our fields and hopefully be after them next week if work will stay out of the way!
