I have a Sabatti Rover almost brand new. and when i put more than one cartridge in the internal magazine, after the first fire, the floor plate drops and the rest of the cartridges fall out. the floor plate just drops open by itself after firing.

any suggestions on fixing this.

thank you..

I would think the spring would be correct and appropriate, my money is on an issue with the latch itself.

I was thinking the same. Tolerance errors stacking up, making the latch fit incorrect.

The spring is likely the same one used on every other 'properly working' example of the model.

A close inspection of the latch and the latch plunger should show wear signs that will tell you a lot about how the parts are rubbing on each other. This should point you at the problem.

As for duct tape, nope. Not when you can scab it together with a welder! LOL!

I just took a look at the gun in question as I wasn't familiar with it..... looks like a pretty well made rifle.
OP, When you say more then one in the magazine, does that mean when you load and fire a round with one more in the magazine there is no problem, but more then one it pops open?
Is the trigger guard, latch and bottom of the plate where it latches all plastic?

Which model and caliber is it?

It looks like it's not quite fully seated, is there some plastic from the stock or something else interfering with the plate fully seating in the closed position?

The other possibility is the release lever is not fully engaged, there is a bit of a shadow in the first picture but is the fit on either side of the latch portion symmetrical with some clearenace so it's not contacting the trigger guard on the left side? It looks like the latch portion is a pretty tight fit where the lever engages.

Loosen the front action screw and see if the floor plate engages better. Its possible that the trigger guard assy is being bowed slightly when the screw is tight. If so, a thin washer placed under the trigger guard at the front screw would be a quick fix.
