Well my upgrades were going well till I slipped with the pick and the plunger went flying into oblivion!!! I really don’t want to take my whole shop apart .
Anyone know where I can buy one ? It’s the metal rod between the ejector spring and ejector, hope I called it by it’s correct name ;)

Cheers
James

i cut the end off of a small drill bit and used that, it's still in my rifle. rifle still runs like a champ.

Extractor plunger. Only option I can think of is a trigger upgrade kit might come with one, or your LGS can order whatever part from ruger directly.

As Yari said you could probably make one. If you desperate Brownells has them for $4:

or try the Ruger service centre, Snapshots:

Thanks everyone!
Yep, I'm thinking a cut down drill bit will work ;)
I don't see the plunger in any upgrade kits , even the extractor kit that I was installing.

Cheers

The best way to find parts like this in the shop ,I found is to buy a new one and install it, than you are sure to find the spare one you now have.
Always seems to work for me

Thanks guys, I think I’m gonna go with a hardened drill bit and grind down the smaller diameter. And once done, I’m sure I’ll step on the original without shoes on ;)
Cheers!

Always work with a cat around you, they love finding flying parts!
Don't know how much plungers and springs of all sorts of guns my cat has found with the years.

I set up a 'clean room' area when I know I'm going to be doing things like that. Old bed sheets on the work bench and draped all around from the joists. I can't recall how many small parts I've lost or how many hours I've wasted trying to find them, only sometimes successfully.

The best clean room I’ve heard of was a late knife maker in Quebec that made high end miniature knives and guns . Everything was painted white and he would work naked , he would also crazy glue parts to his finger tips. Crazy talented and probably a little plain crazy ;)

I also like to do this kind of stuff in a big clear ziplock bag. When you launch stuff (I do this alot). It gets caught by the bag. Greatest idea someone ever told me!

Good to know, brownells won’t ship them according to their website .

The default on the website when it detects a non-American visitor,is to say that. Phone. Talk to the nice people there and sort out what they can and can't ship.

The odds of postage being your major expense makes the use of a drill shank or piece of a nail look pretty darn good though.
