Looking to see if anyone else out there has an fn49 in 3006 or knows much info on there serial numbers mine has all matching numbers in the 14000 range but the upper receiver ring has been scrubbed and reparkerized in battle grey Iam not shur if it's a luxembourg or one of the 3006 that were imported into the USA in the early 60's as a sporter model

FN has never released info about anything they made. Any FN49 that made it to North America is a milsurp.

"...in battle grey..." Zinc based parkerizing is always shades of grey. The shade depends on the metal the finish is on. Whoever did it to your rifle needs a slap.

Sorry for the bad spelling and grammer was on the way out the door the internet is flooded with lots of information and disinformation on the fn49 just trying to make sense out of it all.I found the rifle at a gun show in Dawson Creek last summer and it was love at first sight
