So I have an egyptian FN49, and I have an opportunity to buy a Belgian made FN49 grenade launcher. I know that there are Egyptian made FN49 grenade launchers, but these are much more scarce and way more expensive.
Does anybody know if the Belgian grenade launcher will fit the Egyptian rifles? From what I understand the Belgian rifles are in 30-06 and the Egyptians in 8mm Mauser. I've found one source that says they are interchangeable, but it's only in the short description of a website that's selling the Belgian model (libertytreecollectors).

If I recall correctly they fired grenades using a blank purpose loaded cartridge instead of a bullet catch grenade. This would mean that the diameter of the ring in front of the muzzle shouldn't matter for safety's sake. The .30cal launchers will fit the 8mm so you shouldn't have any problems. If you're thinking of ordering from Liberty Tree, they won't ship it over the border like a lot of other things they are under the impression cannot be exported. Been there got the t-shirt.

Good to know, thanks. I actually did order from liberty tree, even though that wasn't the source I was talking about. I bought from them because it was slightly cheaper and there were a few other things I was ordering from them anyway (stripper clips, fn49 gas tool and the stock cleaning kit). So chances are they're going to refuse to ship the grenade launcher? Is it actually illegal to import/export those or are they mistaken/overly cautious?

Liberty Tree is a bunch of morons, who have no idea of what the law in the US is in regard the export of parts. You can try and educate them on the legalities, but they'll just cancel your order or ignore your emails.
