FN-49 in 8mm Value

Just looking to find out the approximate value of an 8mm FN-49 in good (to be conservative) condition. A search for 'FN49' didn't turn up anything useful...

You'll be lucky if you find one at that price. I only buy VG to excellent so you're looking at $700-$800.

I bought 1 on the EE last year,good cond with very good+ bore for $425. But i agree, for very good to excellent expect 700-$850,possibly more with the correct bayonet.

My friend is a private collector and he buys large amounts of rifles, just to get the one he wants. He into leaver actions so hes left with lots of military rifles that he dislikes. So he gives them cheap to me, just to take them off his hands.I also bought a k98k all matching except floor plate for 375 off of the same friend. Hes getting a few more k98;s and i will probally take them all.

I have a friend who will sell me an FN49 for a good price, and it is in good condition, but I don't want it enough because it is in 7x57mm Mauser. I don't dislike that calibre particularly, but if I ever get an FN49, I want it in .30-06, so I envy you this one, not just because you got a good price.

To the OP's question. My estimate on value for an Egyptian FN49 in good condition (if it's not a Century rebuild) would be $600-$650. Some would pay more for one of the later production "three-swivel" variant.

As for your post, Tooner...have your friend get in touch with me about that 7mm Mauser FN49 you don't want. I like the 7x57 round.
