Does anyone know where to find a magazine for an 8mm FN-49? Also, does anyone know if there are any options for muzzle brakes that would fit the original threads?


To clarify, because some seem to be a little slow, I am looking for a 5/10 pinned fixed magazine. My Egyptian FN is missing one.

Back when such things were legal, I saw someone at gun show selling a "kit' to convert an FN-49 to a 20 shot magazine. The "kit" consisted of a BAR magazine and a photo copy of a magazine article. I looked at it and it didn't look very practical to me, but maybe someone more ambitious could do it.
 
Sarco in the US has them both in stock.
I bought the muzzle brake from them a few years ago.
Don't know if they will ship the magazine to Canada though.
 
I had a magazine for my Egyptian FN49 stolen. Tried one for a 30-06, no workee. Yes, I know the 8x57 is shorter, but it was worth a try. I put wtb on the EE and had one shortly. Oddly, the seller had his whole rifle stolen many years ago, and still had the mag. :)
 
Are they dimensionally different ?, one would think with so little difference in cartridge length that the mags. would be the same.
I have never had one in 8mm,the one I have is an Argentine one in 7.62x51 NATO with a removable mag.
 
The HK hider does fit - I think the CETME ones are the same as well - also, Sarco has repro muzzle brakes that are a copy of the ones on the scoped rifles and yes they ship here.
