Midlength or Carbine gas system?

I have the 16" FNH FN15 Tactical Carbine and it's a mid length gas system. Great rifle!! Super light compared to my DDM4V11 Pro. Just need to replace the flash hider with a muzzle brake now and it will likely be my go to rifle on the shorter distance / speed 3 Gun matches.

I was holding out for a DDM4v11 Pro but maybe I should consider the FN as a my first AR. Do you think the 14.5" would be better than 16" for 3 gun?

For 3gun, FN produces the FN15 Sporting features 18" match-grade barrel in .223, Surefire Procomp muzzle brake, Timney competition trigger, Samson 15" FF rail and Magpul furnitures out of the box.
