I just purchased an older FN made 12ga Auto 5 shotgun. It seems to have some sort of threaded choke adapter on the end, but I don't recognize it. If anyone could help me identify this choke it would be greatly appreciated. Sorry about the picture quality, I broke the lcd screen on the back of my camera, so I get no preview.

(added) I measured the o.d. of the choke threads; they seem to be 15/16 with SAE 32tpi thread. Doesn't seem to be welded on.

George, that A5 is threaded for a choke system known as "Quick-Choke" it was standard on Breda autos in the early '60s. I have a picture of a "Quick Choke" equipped Breda in my 1961 gun digest. I thought it may be a Cutts adaptor but the shoulder is not bevelled. I tried to find some of those chokes without any luck. I would imagine that the original choking (if there was one, this may be FN installed) has been reamed to cyl or thereabouts.

cheers Darryl
