For FN pistol fellow collectors (namely):

Here is Model 1900 - SN 353096 (issue No. 4274)

I am glad I found this well preserved nickel finish FN 1900 pistol intended for an outstanding graduate at Imperial General Staff Academy of Russia (circa 1907-1914)

Relevant info on this contract appears in A. Vanderlinden, FN Browning Pistols, Expanded 2nd Edition (2013)
This pistol is already listed (but without mention of its issue...) in the author’s database, among 14 others.

Of some interest is the monogram on back strap. I consulted Mr. Vanderlinden about it, and here’s what he had to say about it :

« The monogram does not appear on any other! This makes yours quite unique! The finish appears removed before the monogram may have been applied. I do not think that it is wear. I have held at least a dozen Russian 1900s and 1905s and none have such monogram. » --- Anthony

For your appreciation

Probably NA for "Nicholas Alexandrovich" and there's probably a "II" in there somewhere as well.
